#SmallBusinessBigImpact: How Kids-Lift is Making a Difference
Premium Service Brands works hand-in-hand with communities nationwide through our nonprofit, Kids-Lift. When the coronavirus swept across the US and the world, as local business owners, we knew we had to help. As always, our priority is the kids in our community.
When schools shut down, the need for additional food in many families across the country surged unexpectedly. Local schools provide a reliable source of food for underprivileged children throughout the week. Luckily, Kids-Lift was primed to help since we had close connections with school districts across the country from our food drives and supply donations over the past few years. With a little innovation & creativity and a lot of heart, we took to the web and got to work.
Kids-Lift launched our first virtual food drive, powered through our franchise owner and client network. This virtual drive includes high impact nutritional food kids will actually want to eat, food that kids can make on their own, and essential items that are not covered by food stamps, like diapers. Our mission has always been to strengthen the communities in which PSB works so every child has the opportunity to reach higher and achieve greater in school and beyond. Especially now, families need extra support, and it’s part of our responsibility as local business leaders to support the most vulnerable among us.
PSB is headquartered in Charlottesville, so we work closely with the Albemarle County Public School district. As of today, through our virtual food drive, we have made over 200 donations of diapers and other nonperishable food items. And our donations continue to increase thanks to the generosity of our franchise owners and community members.
